Independent Review Panel Public Meeting
You are invited to participate in an online public meeting to provide your input to the Independent Review Panel on Water Importation.
The meeting takes place October 27, at 5:30 p.m. on Zoom. The public is invited to attend and provide input.
The Public Meeting will begin with a brief introduction to the Panel’s charge, process, and timeline, and then the floor will be opened to hear from you. Among the issues of particular interest to the Panel are your opinions on:
- The most important criteria by which different approaches to water importation should be judged.
- Your opinion or vision of the role of the Salton Sea in the long-term future of the region.
- Anything else you would like to tell the Panel.
The Salton Sea Management Program (SSMP) established the Panel to perform an independent review of water importation concepts. The Panel is gathering all the information it can about water importation as a long-term strategy to restore and manage the Salton Sea. Learn about Panel members by visiting the SSMP website.
In 2018, 11 concepts were presented to the state. Recently, the Panel reopened the process to accept additional concepts. Those concepts were due earlier this month.

La reunión pública comenzará con una breve introducción sobre el cargo, el proceso y el itinerario del Panel, y después se abrirá el diálogo para escuchar sus opiniones. Entre los temas de especial interés para el Panel están sus opiniones sobre:
