Consulting ahs assisted the Authority in getting information to
many audiences in a variety of ways. Interest in the Sea from
both print and electronic media has been strong and regular
contact with reporters and editorial boards has been
established. A website was created for the Authority (www.saltonsea.ca.gov),
a video was produced by the Water Education Foundation, fact
sheets and displays were developed and a Salton Sea Symposium
has been held on a biannual basis. Tours for stakeholders not
familiar with the Sea have been conducted, as has outreach to
most of the stakeholders groups near and around the Sea.
Workshops for local educators have been held. Over $600,000 of
ferderal finding has been utilized by the Authority to "get
the word out" through these efforts. |
